Rolling green hills with a flock of sheep grazing, surrounded by trees and dense forest, under a partly cloudy sky.

Off-site. Always.

Every organisation we work with has to adhere to two hard and fast Society of Poets non-negotiables. 1. We will never work at your offices. 2. Always in person, never over video calls.

A black and white line drawing of two people sitting outdoors, engaging in a conversation. There are hills and bushes in the background, and a tree on the left side.
§ 3 · Organisations

We are here to help the people within brands find real connection.

Society of Poets offers gentle, human-centred workshops and gatherings: time for listening, for honest conversation, for truly knowing the people beside you. We step outside the usual meeting room and into quieter places: gardens, walks, and interesting spaces that invite presence. We work in person, with teams who have already tried the usual programmes and noticed that, when it matters most, the room still falls silent. Here, you will find how we work, who we walk alongside, and how to begin.

§ 3.1 · The Problem, Named Honestly

Not an away day. Something much more useful.

Clarity is a skill: you can teach shorter emails or tighter meetings quickly. Honesty is a conditions issue. It’s not lack of ability but a learned response to a room that stopped rewarding honesty.

You’ll recognise the signs: teams that used to argue now agree; colleagues who’ve sat together for years still don’t really know each other; a feel-good away day that changes nothing; trust weakened by restructure or long remote stretches; senior people never vulnerable; the “real” conversation happening after the meeting.

Organisations often buy an away day, a wellness workshop, some kind of work/life balance program, yet engagement scores stay flat, top performers start sounding cautious, and surveys blurt the truth that no one directly addresses. This requires different work, in a different kind of space.

If this is the shape of your team, start with a conversation. No pitch, no obligation.

§ 3.4 · What Engaging Us Looks Like

The practical shape, before we speak.

Two people sit on a bench in a grassy park area with trees and hills in the background, during daytime with bright sunlight.

Not traditional team-building: No trust falls or forced activities; it’s more like a purposeful walk and conversation.

  • Format: Either a 3.5-hour half day or 6-hour full day, with some teams preferring two half-day sessions a few weeks apart.

  • Group size: 8–10 people per session to balance participation and variety. Larger organisations can use multiple sessions.

  • Setting: Always off-site, in a distinctive, thoughtfully chosen environment—such as a garden, purposeful walk, house, or considered city space—rather than a conventional meeting room.

§ 3.3 · Who It Is For

The people who already know.

Walking, talking, thinking, listening. Away from the office and screens.

This is an invitation, not a proposal.

Start with a conversation. No pitch, no obligation. Send a short note: what is going on, what you have already tried, what you would like to be different. We reply personally, within a working day. When the work begins, it will be held offsite or in nature, always.
